Refugee Reflective Practice Network
What is it?
Welcome to The Network, which is a brand new pilot, set up to help and support children’s Social Workers who are working alongside child refugees and children who are seeking asylum.
Why is it needed?
Throughout my career I have worked with children who are seeking safety in the UK, and with other Social Workers who are doing the same.
It has been a privilege and joy to do this work and it has also been hard, emotionally demanding and at times, completely heartbreaking.
There have been few opportunities to PAUSE, THINK and REFLECT with other people undertaking this work.
With funding granted by The Centre for Social Work Practice Legacy Fund, Safe to Grow is creating a new reflective space.
A place where Social Workers can connect, reflect, learn and grow together.
How will it work?
The Network will run as a 12-month pilot, starting in September 2026.
The group will be open to 20 Social Workers, including Independent’s, who are working alongside child refugees and children who are seeking asylum.
Reflective Practice sessions will take place once a month online for 2 hours - including a short break mid-way through (dates and times to be agreed with participants).
Being part of the pilot and attending Facilitated Reflective Practice is completely free!
Get in touch to find out more or take a look at the information pack below, and be 1 of the first 20 Social Workers to join the Refugee Reflective Practice Network.
I look forward to meeting you.
